CLIENT: Global Humanitarian Nonprofit
SERVICES: Strategic Communications | Positioning and Influence
The Challenge
A global humanitarian nonprofit was growing its global work and entering a more visible stage of organizational development. The organization needed broader communications counsel to elevate its brand, strengthen how it told its story, and help key audiences better understand the innovation and year-round work behind its mission.
Locked On's Approach
Over a seven-month engagement, Locked On Strategies developed a formal communications strategy and plan, led content development, and shaped media storytelling around the organization's global work. Rather than relying only on disaster-response moments, the strategy highlighted the engineering and technology behind the organization, including its use of solar power to deliver sustainable solutions.
The opening of a significantly larger North Charleston headquarters became one important activation within that broader work. Locked On Strategies designed the grand-opening event and used the milestone to connect the organization's mission, growth, and innovation with donors, volunteers, community leaders, partners, and media.
The Result
The engagement produced two earned-media stories in The Post and Courier and a headquarters grand opening attended by approximately 200 people. It also left the organization with a more deliberate communications framework for telling its story beyond immediate crises.
The work gave audiences more ways to understand the organization beyond its role as a responder when disaster strikes, but as an engineering-driven nonprofit developing innovative solutions to an urgent global problem every day.
